Abstract: This study focuses on the phenomenon of "villages in the city" in China, using Wuli Village, which has undergone significant transformation, as a case study. By investigating the commercial spaces in Wuli Village, the study explores the spontaneous spatial changes and strategies in response to settlement transformation. As China undergoes rapid urbanization, the issues faced by Wuli Village are representative of broader trends. The commercial transformation experience in Wuli Village offers valuable insights and potential strategies for similar urbanization challenges.
